We are a community mediation organisation and we provide a free mediation service for all Sheffield and Rotherham residents.

We are an independent charity with no legal powers; we are not part of the city council, police or any other statutory organisation. We offer a confidential service and any discussions are conducted in private. Mediators can be spoken to in confidence and won’t pass on any information with out the neighbour’s consent. MESH mediators are impartial; they don’t take sides or decides who is right or wrong; we do not make judgements or offer advice. Our mediators come from all walks of life and are trained to OCN level 3; they have experience of working with a wide range of problems. Mediation deals with issues such as:

Anti-social behaviour

  • Noise
  • Parking
  • Harassment
  • Boundaries
Mediation is a way of sorting out problems using talking, listening and cooperation with the help of people who are neutral. It is completely up to the client whether s/he continues with the mediation process.

We are also running a free training course in September to recruit new volunteers (please see the attached letter.) In the current climate of awareness regarding neighbour and community relations, our services are in great demand, and we need to find new people to swell our ranks of experienced mediators.
